Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC)

Emergency Hormonal Contraception and bridging contraception. Face-to-face consultation

What is Involved with Emergency Hormonal Contraception?

Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC), funded by the NHS, is a vital form of emergency contraception used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.

Commonly referred to as the “morning-after pill,” EHC includes two main types: levonorgestrel, effective within 72 hours, and ulipristal acetate (ellaOne), effective within 120 hours. We also offer bridging contraception.
